A Jaipur homeowner transforms his electricity economics with clean solar energy

Mr. Rajesh Sharma owns a spacious 4-bedroom villa in Malviya Nagar, one of Jaipur's most sought-after residential neighbourhoods. The household hosts a family of six, with two air conditioners, a geyser, two refrigerators, washing machine, and a full range of modern appliances running through the summer months. Rajasthan's intense heat — with temperatures routinely crossing 45°C from April through June — meant the home's electricity bills were anything but modest.

By mid-2023, Mr. Sharma was paying an average of ₹12,000 per month on electricity, with peak summer months touching ₹16,000. He had explored solar previously but concerns about reliability, roof load, and the quality of workmanship had kept him from committing. After a friend installed solar through FGPS Solar and shared consistent feedback about performance and service, Mr. Sharma reached out to us for a detailed site assessment.

Our technical team conducted a thorough shading analysis, structural roof inspection, and load profiling. The villa's south-facing RCC terrace offered 480 sq ft of unobstructed space — more than adequate for an 8 kW on-grid system. We designed the system to cover approximately 80–85% of the household's annual consumption, with net metering enabling surplus export during lower-consumption winter months.

The 8 kW system uses 20 high-efficiency monocrystalline PERC panels paired with a Solis 8 kW string inverter. Installation was completed in four working days, including DISCOM inspection and net meter commissioning. The system went live in October 2023 and has been performing above projection in every subsequent month.
